Company Building Systems is seeking a Transportation Supervisor for an immediate hire.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Transportation Supervisor directly oversees the daily activities, workload, safety and personnel that rely heavily on vehicle use. Key elements include ensuring that mobile/modular units are legally, timely, and safely transported, and that appropriate permitting and other Federal/State/local regulatory requirements are in constant compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
*           Daily transportation/route planning for modular/mobile units, truck routing operations
*           Allocating driver assignments/vehicles (in/outbound) - multi-state (OR, WA, CA)
*           Manage inspections and reporting functions including, but not limited to: FMCSA/ODOT/WDOT/CHP motor carrier inspections, DOT vehicle condition reports/maintenance records and permits requirements (records maintenance, report preparation - monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting required) and  determine cleanliness, safety/security standards are maintained
*           Ensuring and Manage compliance with DOT Federal Safety standards and regulations for mobile Modular transportation, pilot and Class A CDL Drivers.
*           Supervise and train staff on department policies/procedures, shares information about new laws/technology updates and those that apply to the daily operations
*           Serve as a point of contact while communication with clients/customers, government officials, transportation business partner and sales staff in regards to service and delivery and maintaining/building relationships and addressing complaints
*           Investigate and effectively resolve transportation department employee conduct/concerns
*           Monitors fleet/driver operating skills, provide/coordinate driver and pilot training/testing; track renewals, schedule DOT physicals, Review driver logs and mileage sheets; maintain year-end mileage reports.
*           Manage databases that detail transport activities, financial accounting, employee's schedules, driver's records and other personnel data
*           Monitor transportation budget to ensure funds are properly utilized; implement organizational objectives as dictated by management, prepare long-range plans/budget proposals regarding equipment replacement
*           May be required to respond and investigate incidents/accidents involving vehicles, and complaints regarding drivers, vehicles/transportation issues
*           Other duties as assigned
*           High-school diploma/GED; college education preferred
*           3-5 years of experience in transportation field along with 1-3 years of supervisory experience
*           Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred
*           E-road ELD use requirements
*           Thorough understanding of FMCSA regulations and compliance and multi-state regulations - OR/WA/CA along with thorough knowledge of transit services, routes, and time schedules.
*           Knowledge of operating power equipment/fleet vehicles and methods of maintenance, along with laws and rules pertaining to transportation of mobile/modular units and there safety practices
*           Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
*           Ability to communicate, coordinate/supervise and interpret effectively in writing or orally instructions while providing guidance to staff.  
*           Map reading abilities
*           Thorough knowledge of computers, hardware/software programs (specifically in the Windows environment; including Microsoft Excel (formulas), Word, Outlook, etc.)
