The Programmer Analyst performs technical and analytical duties relative to design, development, programming and installation of computer applications and software systems over a variety of platforms, including application servers and PCs. Develops project time and cost estimates and has a thorough understanding of hardware, software and programming languages used in his/her environment. Must primarily perform work requiring advanced learning or work that is original and creative. Also, must consistently exercise independent choice and judgment or perform work requiring invention, imagination or talent in a recognized field of artistic endeavor 80% or more of the time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Researches systems strategy, develops system requirements, designs prototypes, performs and documents testing, develops and conducts training to support procedures and implementation of systems.
Designs and documents appropriate Cognos and SharePoint solutions based on information architecture, requirement analysis and the user's functional and non-functional requirements.
Develops system design documents and applies generally accepted programmingstandards to ensure efficient programming logic and data manipulation. Ensures code runs efficiently. Analyzes performance indicators to ensure system is operating efficiently and recommends improvements.
Develops project time and cost estimates and ensures projects meet appropriate time schedules and keeps users/management informed of status.
Assists in implementation of custom, technology enabled business solutions.
Ensures that Confidential Information that is learned through the course of employment is kept confidential.
Reliable and regular attendance is expected.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field and three years programming experience with a minimum of two years directly related to Microsoft SharePoint web development, Microsoft's development toolset, SQL Server, IBM Cognos and Web Technologies as well as Windows server experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Job requires experience with full life cycle of software development from requirements analysis through documentation, testing and deployment.
Ability to work with development, staging and production environments.
Ability to work with pre-existing guidelines, standard operating procedures in a fast-paced professional environment.
Performs all duties in compliance with IT Policies, Procedures and Change Control.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced with Visual Studio and either C# or VB.NET and SQL Server. Experience with SharePoint 2010/2013.
