Job description:

Implement sourcing plans and tactics supporting the mission and goals of the company. Steel. Important aspects of this role are to maximize supplier performance, qualify and continually assess suppliers, identify cost savings using existing suppliers and new suppliers, and manage outsourced suppliers.
 Implement plans to assure orders meet specified quality and delivery times and to minimize the total cost of purchases.
 Assists with establishing supplier base in conformance with guidance from production, sales and management.
 Assess and qualify current and potential suppliers in conformance with company business manual.
 Negotiates with suppliers to meet quality, delivery and cost objectives.
 Executes contract negotiation and development in coordination with Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager.
 Identifies opportunities by evaluating spends and implement actions to achieve cost savings.
 Research new raw material supplier and subcontractor options for company locations.
 For the culvert and tank product lines, project manage all purchases for coatings, sandblasting, insulating, field installation services and retention system fabrication done by outsourced suppliers for to ensure all Quality Management System requirements are met.
 Manage relationship with new and existing suppliers – includes vendor qualifications, assessments, report card reviews, paperwork filing, vendor setup/maintenance in SyteLine/Fabtrol and SCAR processing.
 Track current price and lead time of steel and other materials/services.
 Prompt and dependable attendance.
 Other duties as assigned.
 High School Diploma or GED required.
 Associate’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
 Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience.
 Certified in Supply Management preferred.
 Excellent communication skills.
 Familiarity with various computer software programs.
 Ability to multi-task.
 Organizational skills a must.
 Familiarity with steel items.
 Negotiation Skills – Ability to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties.
 Honesty/Integrity – Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
 Accountability/Reliability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and being dependable and trustworthy.

Bottom Line Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Associate’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
3. 2+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing.
4.  Certified in Supply Management preferred.
