Job description:

The Structural Concrete Field Engineer will establish and maintain relationships with design professionals, specifiers and major contractors to obtain the specification of anchoring systems, cold-formed steel commercial connectors and concrete repair, protection and strengthening products. The Field Engineer will be based in the Seattle area and service Washington, Oregon, Montana, Northern Idaho, and Alaska.
Responsibilities
 
20% of the time you will: Provide technical support of anchoring systems, cold-formed steel commercial connectors and concrete repair, protection and strengthening products to internal and external customers.
 
20% of the time you will: Conduct technical presentations for individuals, groups and professional associations involved in new construction and/or the repair and rehabilitation of existing structures, focusing on general technical knowledge as well as the advantages and use of company products.
 
20% of the time you will: Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, engineering firms and contractors within the region.
 
10% of the time you will: Use product knowledge, experience and training to develop solutions for a wide variety of concrete applications to support jobsite driven needs.
 
10% of the time you will: Identify sales opportunities and work closely with the sales team to support closing of sales opportunities.
 
10% of the time you will: Work closely with Branch Engineers and Technicians to identify new products and testing opportunities. Assist in development and review of technical literature.
 
10% of the time you will: Identify and maintain DOT approvals for anchoring systems and concrete repair, protection and strengthening products. Assist in product approval review and submittals.
 
Qualifications
 
Licensed Professional Engineer (WA required and OR preferred)
B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred
5 years structural design experience including reinforced concrete structures required. Design or repair experience in infrastructure, industrial and agricultural concrete structures is a plus.
1 year computer experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ACAD, various design software).
Knowledge: Practical working knowledge of common concrete and steel construction methods.
Speaking and communication: Communicate verbally in an appropriate way for the audience he/she is speaking to. Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, and other groups.
 
Customer focus: Quickly and effectively solve customer problems and maintain productive internal and external customer relationships. Readily readjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing customer needs. Recognize potentially adverse customer reactions and develop better alternatives.
 
Teamwork: Maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other employees. Demonstrate a genuine commitment to reach mutually beneficial solutions.
Driving record: Possess and maintain a driving record which complies with company policy.
 
Travel: Travel away from home with occasional overnight stays.
Travel Required
 
This job requires domestic travel, 35% of the time.

Bottom Line Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related.
2. PE.
3. 5+ years of experience in the concrete construction industry.
4. Computer experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ACAD, various design software).
