Job description:

The Follow up Claims Analyst, Supervisor is a full-time position and oversees the day to day activities of the claims follow up analyst team. The supervisor is responsible for daily workflows and the team goals of processing claims and also provides guidance and leadership to the team with a focus on accountability, ensuring adherence to billing standards, foster teamwork, provide performance feedback and help the staff learn and grow. The incumbent must have expertise in the area of Workers Compensation and Automobile Accident claims billing. The supervisor manages the follow-up of workers’ compensation and motor vehicle claims, billing inquiries for clients’ accounts, medical billing, payment research, correspondence process and reporting. The supervisor works closely with the VP of Operations to handle billing inquiries, payment research and other assigned duties as requested.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•           Expertise in Workers Compensation and Automobile Accident claims processing
•           Supervisor the daily work plans and goals of the claims follow up team
•           Investigate and correct problems working with established procedures on claims follow up
•           Handle inbound telephone calls and make outbound calls to resolve claims processing
•           Contact commercial insurance companies to identify status of accounts and obtain rapid resolution
•           Resolve all denials and initiate appropriate appeals
•           Use various systems to access information and process and track claim results
•           Ensure accuracy and quality control with review of all files
•           Send letters of explanation
•           Review weekly reports and perform administrative duties to accounts
•           Troubleshoot and research complaints regarding accounts
•           Assist in the hiring and onboarding process
•           Oversee the training process for new or current employees
•           Formally review and evaluate employee performance annually
•           Approve employee time cards and paid time off requests
•           Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group meetings with direct reports, management and co-workers
•           Assist with special projects and administrative tasks
•           Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory guidelines
 
Required Skills:
•           2 years supervisory experience, leading a team
•           3+ years’ in-depth billing experience with expertise in workers’ compensation and motor vehicle claims
•           Competent technical skills in MS Office Suite and Windows applications and other software applications such as Epic, Cerner Soarian, and ERP or MRP systems a plus
 
•           Experienced at supervising, motivating and leading employees
•           Manage large volumes of work with a high level of attention to detail
•           Strong patience, data entry and interpersonal skills
•           Analytical and critical thinking skills to make decisions with information available
•           Experience with document control management a plus
•           Understand and have experience working within a team concept and in a fast-paced environment
•           Exceptional at managing work and planning and organizing skills
•           Excellent oral, written and telephone communication skills
•           Frequently exchange information accurately with co-workers, management, payers and clients
 
Education:
•           High School diploma or GED required
•           Some College preferred
