Job description:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
           Conduct job site inspections for safety and quality defects
           Conduct gate checks on employees entering and leaving the yard for DOT violations along with policy issues
           Train new and current employees on safety and company policies
           Maintaining safety spreadsheets along with sending reminders to SV about safety issues, equipment and employees
           Conduct safety meetings with employees not meeting expectations
           Research various types of DOT laws.
           Special projects as assigned
           All other duties as assigned
 
Safety Responsibilities:
           Assist in the responsibility for the safety on jobsites; including all employees for the Company and any other employers near the jobsite
           Assist in ensuring that the Company Safety and Loss Control Program is followed on each jobsite and that there are no unsafe conditions or acts at each jobsite
           Assist in ensuring that the necessary safety equipment is available and is in proper working order at each jobsite and that employees are trained in safe procedures related to their job
           Conduct periodic safety inspections, gate checks and Job Safety Observations (JSO) at each jobsite
           Assist in conducting weekly safety meetings with all employees or with employees not meeting safety expectations
 
Minimum Qualifications:
           High school diploma or GED required
           One to three years related experience; previous safety experience preferred
           Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Access
           To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Needs the ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively; and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff. This position requires the ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize daily workload and work with minimum supervision and the ability to meet deadlines, establish deadlines, and to prioritize deadlines.

Bottom Line Requirements:

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. 1 to 3 years of utility construction inspection or related experience.
3. Previous safety experience preferred.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
