Job description:

Industry Leader in material handling solutions looking for a Purchasing Manager. 
 
Responsibilities Include:
 
*           Manages the overall control and movement of purchased materials inventory, developing a PFEP, receiving, and maintaining accurate inventory.
*           Accurately generates POs base on order write up's and customer requirements specific to custom orders
*           Works with an ERP operating software (Great Plains) and is able to run and use daily reports to proactivity generate improvement opportunities. 
*           Insure that PFEP on items meets or exceeds the targeted inventory levels.
*           Coordinates with production, in regards to order points and replenishment quantities and maintain all Kanban cards.
*           Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve problems and assists in the development of inventory control procedures.
*           Skillful in planning and analyzing the requirements of the production department
*           Monitor inventory levels to include safety stock, WIP, obsolete, and production stock.
*           Should have good negotiating, verbal, and written communication skills.
*           The successful candidate will need to be fast paced, high detailed, and proactive on problem solving. 
*           This position has 2 direct reports.
 
Education and Experience Requirements
 
*           Degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related discipline or 3 or more years of relevant experience in Planning, Procurement, or related experience.
*           Experience with conveyors, motors, reducers, controls and raw material a plus.
*           Problem-solving methodology and innovative solutions to inventory control issues.
*           Proficient in use of MS Excel and office and Microsoft GP.
*           Experience purchasing electrical motors, controls, reducers, pneumatics, and hydraulics a plus
*           Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
*           APICS Certification a plus
*           Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Great Plains (ERP)
*           Excellent problem solving skills with a hands on attitude
